Toshiba has just announced that it has a new NAND Flash memory module, which comes with a massive 128GB of storage, and we can expect to see this in our smartphones over the next couple of years.
128GB is quite a bit of storage for a smartphone, with many today coming with 32GB maximum, you could store up to 2,222 hours of music, 16.6 hours of full HD video and 38.4 hours of SD video.
The 128GB NAN Flash memory chips have been made by combining 16 64Gbit NAND chips, and the new module measures just 17 x 22 x 1.4mm and it it compatible with the e-MMC standard.
Toshiba will be sending out sample of the 128GB modules to manufacturers in September so we can expect to see these turning up in smartphones over the next couple of years.
