Fiat Chrysler and Tesla have reached an agreement where Fiat will pay Tesla hundreds of millions of dollars to meet EU emissions rules.
The exact amount of the payment has not been revealed, but is is hundreds said to be hundreds of millions.
By pooling Tesla’s electric vehicles with its own fleet of vehicles the company is able to meet the strict emissions riles that are coming in in 2020. This is perfectly legal for them to do this and will benefit both companies.
Tesla has done this in thee past by selling zero emissions credit, it made $103.4 million from this in 2018 and $279.4 million in 2017.
It will be interesting to find out exactly how much Fiat Chrysler are paying Tesla to pool their resources and meet the new emissions targets.
