Tesla has announced a new upgrade package for their Tesla Roadster, the package is called the Tesla Roadster 3.0, and it will increase the driving range of the vehicle to 400 miles.
The Tesla Roadster 3.0 package is in the prototype stages at the moment, and it will bring an improvement in range over the original vehicle of between 40 to 50 percent.
Combining all of these improvements we can achieve a predicted 40-50% improvement on range between the original Roadster and Roadster 3.0. There is a set of speeds and driving conditions where we can confidently drive the Roadster 3.0 over 400 miles. We will be demonstrating this in the real world during a non-stop drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles in the early weeks of 2015.
The package consists of some aerodynamic body improvements and also a new 70kWh battery pack, and the package will be available as a retrofit kit for the Tesla Roadster.
Tesla have yet to announce how much this new Tesla Roadster 3.0 package will cost, and as it is in the prototype stages the company has yet to give an exact release date for the upgrade package.
