By now you should know that some EVs are very fast. We can thank the instant torque for the performance EVs can muster. The folks over at DragTimes took a Tesla Model X P100D with 100 kWh in battery packs and pitted it against a Lamborghini Aventador SV reports Qz.com. That Lambo happens to be one of the fastest cars the marque ever made.
The Model X was able to reach a top speed of 118 mph in the quarter mile and ran the trip in 11.4 seconds according to the time slips. That put the Tesla at the finish line half a second in front of the Lambo. While the times have been certified by the Palm Beach International Speedway, it’s not yet certified to be an electric SUV record.
The Model X is $165,000 and the Lambo was about $530,000. The Lambo has more horsepower at 740hp and the Tesla is rated for 603. It seems the Modle X was souped up, it normally runs 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and did it in 2.28-seconds this time out.
