Tesla recently announced its sales figures for 2015, the company sold a total of 50,366 Tesla Model S cars in 2015.
According to a recent report, the sales of 50,366 units of the Tesla Model S makes the car the most popular plug-in electric vehicle of 2015.
The second most popular vehicle was the Nissan Leaf which accounted for a total of 43,000 sales worldwide in 2015.
The Model S is also the most popular plug-in EV to date with a total of 107,148 cars sold since it launched in 2012.
The Nissan Leaf launched in December 2010 an there have been a total of 106,000 Leaf vehicles sold since it launch.
Other cars on the list include the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV which sold 39,000, next was the BYD Win PHEV which sold 31,898 cars in China and in fifth place was the BMW i3 with 24,057 cars sold in 2015.
