Just because you need an SUV to pick up the kids or haul lots of stuff, it doesn’t mean you have to drive a slow car. At least not thanks to the crew at SVE (Specialty Vehicle Engineering). They will take a regular Tahoe or Subaruban and give the ride 1,000hp.
These hopped-up Chevy’s can be ordered via a normal chevy dealer. The trucks start with a 5.3L V8 model with rear-wheel drive. The V8 is pulled and replaced with a stroked LT1 V8 displacing 6.8L and rocking forged internals to live under the boost from the supercharger.
The rides also get heavy-duty automatic transmission upgrade that is only covered by a one year or 12k warranty. The engine gets a 3/36,000 mile warranty. It’s easy to see the weak link here. An 810hp version costs $44,995 on top of the base Tahoe. The big dog 1000hp version is an extra $66,995.
