Tag Heuer has announced their first smartwatch, the Tag Heuer Connected, and the device is now available for $1,500.
This new Tag Heuer smartwatch comes with Google’s Android Wear OS and it takes its design cues from Tag’s popular Carrera range of watches.
Design and Display
The device comes with a 46mm circular display that has a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. This high-resolution display ensures that the watch face is clear and easy to read, even in bright sunlight. The design of the Tag Heuer Connected is inspired by the classic Carrera range, which is known for its elegant and sporty look. The watch features a titanium case, which not only adds to its durability but also gives it a premium feel. The choice of materials and the attention to detail in the design make it stand out from other smartwatches on the market.
Performance and Features
Under the hood, the Tag Heuer Connected is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z34XX processor, which ensures smooth performance and quick response times. The device comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage, allowing you to store apps, music, and other data directly on the watch. The 410 mAh battery provides up to 25 hours of usage on a single charge, making it suitable for a full day of use without needing to recharge.
The smartwatch comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, meaning it can withstand being submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This makes it suitable for everyday wear, including during workouts and outdoor activities. The Tag Heuer Connected also features WiFi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected even when your phone is not nearby. Additionally, it comes with a range of sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, and heart rate monitor, which can be used to track your fitness and health metrics.
The Tag Heuer Connected is now available for $1,500, and it comes with a choice of different colored rubber straps. These straps are not only comfortable to wear but also add a touch of personalization to the watch. The design of the Tag Heuer Connected is impressive, as it closely resembles some of Tag Heuer’s other watches, making it a stylish accessory for any occasion.
However, the question remains: is it worth the $1,500 price tag when there are very similar Android Wear watches available for a lot less? While the Tag Heuer Connected offers premium materials, a high-quality display, and a range of features, there are other smartwatches on the market that offer similar functionality at a lower price point. For example, the Moto 360 and the LG Watch Urbane are both popular Android Wear smartwatches that offer similar features at a fraction of the cost.
The Tag Heuer Connected is a well-designed and feature-rich smartwatch that combines the elegance of a traditional watch with the functionality of a modern smartwatch. Its premium materials and attention to detail make it a standout choice for those who are willing to invest in a high-quality timepiece. However, for those who are looking for a more budget-friendly option, there are other Android Wear smartwatches available that offer similar features at a lower price. Ultimately, the decision comes down to personal preference and whether the premium design and brand name of Tag Heuer are worth the additional cost.
