What to Expect from the Android Marshmallow Update
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update brings a host of new features and improvements to the Nexus 6. Users can look forward to enhanced app permissions, which give them more control over what information apps can access. This means you can now approve or deny permissions on a case-by-case basis, rather than all at once when you install the app.
Another significant feature is the Doze mode, which helps to improve battery life by putting your device into a deeper sleep state when it’s not being used. This can be particularly beneficial for Nexus 6 users who have been experiencing battery drain issues.
Additionally, the update includes Google Now on Tap, a feature that provides contextual information based on what’s on your screen. For example, if you’re reading an article about a movie, you can hold the home button to get more information about the movie, including reviews and showtimes.
Rolling Out the Update
As yet, there are no details on exactly when the Android Marshmallow update will land on the Nexus 6, although as T-Mobile said it would be soon, we suspect it will land sometime in the next few days. The rollout process for such updates typically happens in stages, so it might take a little while before it reaches all Nexus 6 devices on T-Mobile.
It’s also worth noting that the update process can vary depending on your location and network conditions. Some users might receive the update notification sooner than others. To check if the update is available for your device, you can go to Settings > About phone > System updates.
As soon as we get some more details on when the Marshmallow update will be rolled out to the Nexus 6, we will let you guys know.
In the meantime, it’s a good idea to back up your data before the update arrives. While the update process is generally smooth, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Make sure your device is charged or connected to a power source to avoid any interruptions during the update.
The Android Marshmallow update is expected to bring a smoother and more efficient user experience to the Nexus 6. With its array of new features and improvements, it’s definitely something to look forward to.
