If you are looking for a waterproof smartwatch unfortunately the new Apple Watch that is launching later this month on April 24th is not waterproof and would probably not last that long if immersed in water. However I am sure once the Apple Watches are available someone will create a YouTube video showing just that destroying the watching in the process just for views.
If you would prefer a smartwatch but can also get wet a new device called Swimmo has been launched over on the Kickstarter website, offering what is developers call the ultimate swimmers waterproof smartwatch.
Its developers explain a little more about its inspiration, functions and design :

The Swimmo waterproof smartwatch project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $39,000 in pledges to make the jump from concept to production.
