One of the major problems with the majority of the smart watches available at the moment is the battery life and now it looks like Swatch intends to solve this problem.
Swatch previously announced that they have a new Swatch smartwatch in the works and now the company has announced that they are working on a new smartwatch battery that could last for up to 6 months.
Swatch Group CEO, Nick Hayek recently told a Swiss newspaper that the company is working on a new battery for smart watches that could last up to six months.
“Whoever brings a battery for a smartwatch to the market that you don’t need to charge for six months has a competitive advantage,” said Hayek.
If Swatch were capable of producing a new battery for smart watches that could last up to 6 months without the need for a recharge, it could end up being very profitable for the company. Whether or not their will be able to achieve this remains to be seen.
