Both Google and Amazon are testing out drones for deliveries and now a company called Starship is looking to use a robot to make deliveries.
The Starship Robot is the creation of former Skype co-founders and thgeir new company Starship Technologies.
The company plans to launch a small fleet of their Starship Robot and use them to make deliveries, the robot is designed to make local deliveries between 5 and 30 minutes, and deliveries will apparently cost between 10 and 15 times less than current methods.
“Our vision revolves around three zeroes – zero cost, zero waiting time and zero environmental impact. We want to do to local deliveries what Skype did to telecommunications.” said Ahti Heinla, a Skype co-founder and CEO at Starship Technologies.
The video below gives us a brief look at this new robot, it will be interesting to see what it is like in action.
