Sony’s PlayStation 4 went on sale just a couple of weeks ago on the 15th of November, and now Sony has announced that they sold a total of 2.1 million PlayStation 4 consoles in November.
Sony also revealed that they sold a massive 1 million units in the first 24 hours of the console going on sale, it also launched in the UK and Europe last week, and sales of the console have broken records in the UK.
It’s an impressive and record-setting accomplishment for our company and for our industry, and we couldn’t have done it without you. I want to personally thank PlayStation fans, both old and new, for your vote of confidence. The best part: the PS4 journey has just begun. In addition to an incredible line-up of PS4 games from the best developers in the world, we will continue to introduce valuable new features and services to PS4 in the months and years ahead.
Microsoft has also had strong sales with their Xbox One console, although as yet we do not have any total sales figures from Microsoft.
It will be interesting to see which of the two consoles comes out as the top selling one, we suspect we will get some more figures from both companies after the holiday shopping period.
