Sony has updated the firmware for its new NEX-3 and NEX-5 cameras which has added a new 3D sweep panorama mode to both cameras, the photos that are taken using the 3D panorama mode can be stitched together and then displayed on a 3DTV.
Sony hasn’t given any details on how exactly the 3D panorama mode works, although they have said that it can be activated by pressing the shutter button and then sweeping the camera from one side to the other.
The Sony Nex-3 and Sony Nex-5, both feature a 14.2 effective megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, and Sony’s E-mount lens system which is compatible with DSLR lenses with the use of an optional mount adapter.
The Sony Nex-3 is capable of recording HD video in 720p, whilst the Sony Nex-5 is capable of recording Full HD video in 1080p, and this new 3D panorama mode is bound to make both cameras more appealing.
