A new update has rolled out to the award-winning photo editing iPad app Snapseed this week, taking the Snapseed app to version 1.4. The latest software update brings with it a number of great new features including support for the new iPad 3 retina display, as well as a new crop tool that includes a 7:5 aspect ratio for all 5 x 7 printers.
Enhanced Image Sharing and Editing Capabilities
Other new features include the ability to now send enhanced images directly to Instagram, and now open images into your other favourite iOS photography applications. This integration makes it easier than ever to share your edited photos with friends and followers on social media platforms. Additionally, the update includes a newly tweaked Black & White algorithm and color filters for superior enhancements and control. These improvements allow users to achieve professional-quality edits with minimal effort.
Snapseed explains:
“Taking a cue from our professional filters product, Color Efex Pro, we’ve improved Center Focus to make it even more powerful. You can now draw attention to the subject of your photo by adjusting the brightness of the inside or outside of your image. You can enhance the overall effect by blurring, or turn it completely off to create vignette effects with ease. Oh, and did we mention that we’ve added presets to give you a starting point and save time?”
New Tools and User Experience Enhancements
The new crop tool with a 7:5 aspect ratio is particularly useful for photographers who frequently print their images. This feature ensures that your photos will fit perfectly into standard 5 x 7 frames without any awkward cropping or resizing. Moreover, the improved Center Focus tool allows for more precise adjustments, making it easier to highlight the main subject of your photo while subtly blurring the background for a professional look.
Another significant addition is the set of new presets. These presets serve as a starting point for your edits, saving you time and effort. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned photographer, these presets can help you achieve the desired effect more quickly. The ability to fine-tune these presets further ensures that you can customize your photos to your exact preferences.
The update also brings enhanced performance and stability to the app. Users will notice faster load times and smoother operation, making the editing process more enjoyable and efficient. These improvements are particularly beneficial for those who edit high-resolution images, as the app can now handle larger files with ease.
The new Snapseed application is now available to download from the iTunes App Store for $4.99 and is highly recommended for tweaking your photographs. With its array of new features and improvements, Snapseed continues to be a top choice for photo editing on the iPad.
