Smartfriendz has unveiled a new addition to their small range of 3D printers in the form of the new SmartrapCore printer that is available as either a kit or turnkey solution.
The SmartrapCore has been designed to provide an open source 3D printing solution that is both affordable and easily expanded when required. Following in the footsteps of the RepRap printer the SmartrapCore is capable of printing its own upgrades.
In its kit form the 3D printer is priced at €320 although this system does not include 3D printer parts or any of the pieces need to build the wooden enclosure box that houses the finished printer.
If you would prefer to have your 3D printer built by its developers and supplied fully working the cost will be a very affordable €480. Watch the video below to see a brief introduction to the design and features you can expect from the open source SmartrapCore 3D printer.
“SmartrapCore is our second model and it’s even more easy to assemble than the Smartrap. The Smartrapcore is an open source, community active project. It is published on Thingiverse and sources are available on our github depot. The kit will come with additional elements.”
For more information on the SmartrapCore kit jump over to the official Smartfriendz website for full specifications and the ability to purchase with delivery taking approximately 2 to 3 weeks at the current time.
