A new SLS 3D printer has been created by ex-Google employees that will soon be launching over on the Kickstarter crowdfunding website looking to raise the capital the concept requires to make the jump into manufacture.
The SinterIt SLS 3D Printer is expected to be priced at around €12,800 making it accessible to the home and small business market. Which previously would have found it costly to purchase one of the SLS 3D printers currently on the market priced starting at around $250,000.
The new €12,800 SinterIt SLS 3D Printer will be supplied fully assembled and ready to use out-of-the-box, offering a printing size of 150 x 150 x 200 mm and a print scan speed of up to 500 mm/s.
SinterIt have also designed their 3D printer to be controlled over a wireless connection allowing you to position it almost anywhere you like within your home or office. Prices for the printing powder that is required for the SLS process will be priced under $100 per kilo. Its creators explain :
“We wanted to reinvent the concept of the SLS printer by changing and improving many aspects of its construction,” the company explains. “We managed to achieve a smaller size for the device and lower production and cost with regards to high quality of printed objects.”
The SinterIt Kickstarter campaign will be launching some time towards the beginning of 2015, but as soon as more information is made available we will keep you updated as always.
