Lignab Technologies has introduced this week a new development board called the Aurec which has been specifically designed to provide an all in one self-contained piece of hardware for saving uncompressed audio.
The high fidelity data capture device has been created to be used with USB microphones and more can be learnt about the small board in the promotional video created and embedded below.
Lignab has taken to Kickstarter this week to raise the $50,000 it requires to go into production over the next 40 days. The board’s developers explain a little more about its inspiration, construction and features.
Unlike other portable audio capture solutions, Aurec can interface directly with any USB microphone and stores captured data in uncompressed form, without lossy compression or any other modification of the audio. Did you ever wish it were possible to connect your USB microphone to a flash memory and make a recording without any additional gear? This is it! Record high quality sound anywhere with just two devices: your microphone and Aurec, a micorcomputer dedicated entirely to your sound recording.
Aurec is a very silent device. Together with a USB microphone and a battery, it forms a complete recording solution that has zero noise and is lightweight enough to fit in your pocket! It is simple to use: just connect it to a USB microphone and it starts recording! Perfect for performers who want to create a video with professional level sound of a live performance, a recital, an audition, a masterclass, etc.
