
Samsung recently launched their new smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S2, the device comes with a range of upgrades over the original Gear S, including a round display.
According to a recent report, Sales of the new Gear S2 are around double that of the original Gear S.
Samsung has apparently been selling around 2,000 units of their Samsung Gear S2 in South Korea since the device launched, this is about double the previous model.
Around 50 percent of the sales of the Gear S2 are apparently for the 3G model, the other 50 percent is made up of the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic.
Samsung’s new smartwatch works with a range of Android devices as well as Samsung’s own handsets, this could have contributed to the higher sales of the device.
The smartwatch comes with a 1.2 inch circular display that has a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels and the device is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor. It also comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of included storage, it runs Samsung’s Tizen OS and comes with a 250 mAh battery.
Connectivity comes in the form of Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC and there is also a model equipped with 3G, the device also comes with Samsung Pay which is the company’s new mobile payment system.
