Samsung has announced that they are starting the global roll out of their new Samsung Gear S2 Classic smartwatch.
The device has been launched in China and now it is starting to roll out globally from today, although Samsung did not specify which countries would be getting the device first.
Enhanced Features and Design
The unveiling of the upgraded version of Samsung’s highly praised smartwatch at CES earlier this month wowed the tech world by merging fashion with technology. To reflect Samsung’s commitment to bringing more choices to consumers, the reintroduction of the Gear S2 Classic takes the intuitive, award-winning design of the Gear S2 and incorporates high-end materials and two unique finishes: 18K Rose Gold and Platinum. The new 18K Rose Gold edition features rose gold plating (18K) and is sold with an Ivory Genuine Leather Band, while the Platinum version showcases platinum finishes with a Black Genuine Leather Band.
The Gear S2 Classic is not just about aesthetics; it also boasts a range of features designed to enhance user experience. The smartwatch includes a rotating bezel, which allows users to navigate through apps and notifications with ease. This intuitive control mechanism is complemented by a vibrant, circular AMOLED display that provides clear and sharp visuals, making it easy to read messages, check the time, or view fitness stats.
Advanced Technology and Connectivity
In addition to its stylish design, the Gear S2 Classic is packed with advanced technology. It runs on Samsung’s Tizen operating system, which is optimized for performance and battery efficiency. The smartwatch is compatible with a wide range of Android devices, and Samsung has also extended compatibility to iOS devices, making it accessible to a broader audience.
The Gear S2 Classic includes a variety of sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate monitor, and barometer. These sensors enable the smartwatch to track a wide range of activities and health metrics, from steps taken and calories burned to heart rate and altitude changes. This makes it an excellent companion for fitness enthusiasts and those looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Moreover, the Gear S2 Classic supports wireless charging, which adds to its convenience. Users can simply place the smartwatch on its charging dock without the need to plug in any cables. The device also features IP68 certification, meaning it is dust and water-resistant, making it suitable for use in various environments and weather conditions.
Samsung has also integrated NFC technology into the Gear S2 Classic, allowing users to make payments directly from their wrist using Samsung Pay. This feature adds a layer of convenience for users who prefer to leave their wallets at home.
