The Samsung Galaxy Tab E was announced back in June and now US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless has the tablet available on their network.
The company is selling the tablet off contract for $329.99, it is also available on a two-year contract for $129.99 and on their 24-month payment plan for $13.74 a month.
Display and Performance
As a reminder, the Galaxy Tab E comes with a 9.6-inch display that features a resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels. This resolution is quite adequate for everyday tasks such as browsing the web, watching videos, and reading e-books. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, which ensures smooth performance for most applications. While it may not be the fastest processor on the market, it is sufficient for the tablet’s intended use cases.
Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy Tab E include 1.5GB of RAM, which allows for moderate multitasking. Although 1.5GB of RAM might seem limited compared to modern standards, it is enough for running multiple apps simultaneously without significant lag. The tablet also comes with 8GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot. This expansion capability is particularly useful for users who need additional space for apps, photos, and videos.
Connectivity and Battery Life
The tablet features WiFi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE, making it versatile for various connectivity needs. Whether you’re at home, in a coffee shop, or on the go, the Galaxy Tab E ensures you stay connected. The inclusion of 4G LTE is particularly beneficial for users who require constant internet access without relying solely on WiFi networks.
The Galaxy Tab E also comes with a 5000 mAh battery, which provides ample power for extended use. This large battery capacity ensures that the tablet can last through a full day of moderate to heavy usage, making it ideal for both work and entertainment purposes. Whether you’re streaming videos, playing games, or working on documents, the Galaxy Tab E’s battery life won’t disappoint.
Camera and Additional Features
In terms of photography, the tablet is equipped with front and rear-facing cameras. The front camera is a 2-megapixel camera, which is suitable for video calls and selfies. While it may not offer the highest resolution, it is adequate for basic needs. The rear camera is a 5-megapixel version, which can capture decent photos and videos. Although it may not replace a dedicated camera, it is useful for quick snapshots and recording moments on the go.
The Galaxy Tab E also includes several software features that enhance its usability. For instance, it comes with Samsung’s proprietary user interface, which offers a range of customization options and additional functionalities. The tablet also supports multi-window mode, allowing users to run two apps side by side, which is particularly useful for multitasking.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E is a well-rounded tablet that offers a good balance of performance, connectivity, and battery life. Its 9.6-inch display, combined with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM, ensures smooth performance for everyday tasks. The expandable storage and versatile connectivity options make it a practical choice for a wide range of users.
