We previously heard a rumor that the Samsung Galaxy S7 would go on sale in February of next year, Samsung normally announces their new Galaxy smartphones in February at MWC and then launches them in March.
According to a recent report, the new Galaxy S7 will be made official at a press event in January 2016.
Samsung will apparently hold a press event for their new S7 handset on the 19th of January 2015, this has yet to be confirmed by Samsung.
We are expecting two versions of the handset next year, a standard Samsung Galaxy S7 with a flat display and a Galaxy S7 Edge with a curved display and we can expect a number of hardware upgrades over the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Samsung are rumored to use different processes on their S7 handsets by region, the US and Chinese variants of the handset will get the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The European and Asian version of the handset will get the new Samsung Exynos 8990 processor.
There will be a their processor option for the S7, this one is headed to India and it will come with a Samsung Exynos 7422 processor. These new devices are also expected to come with Force Touch technology like the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
So far those are the only specifications we know on these new S7 devices, we can speculate on the possible specs of the handsets. We are expecting both devices to come with at least 4GB of RAM and the displays on the new Galaxy S7 will either have a QHD or 4k resolution.
We would also expect the cameras on the handsets to get updated and suspect Samsung may use a 20 megapixel sensor in next years devices. We are also expecting both handsets to come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As soon as we get some more information about Samsung’s new flagship devices, we will let you guys know.
