Samsung is expected to release the new Galaxy Note 5 earlier than expect and now according to a recent report, the company will do the same thing with the Samsung Galaxy S7.
We were not expecting the Samsung Galaxy S7 to launch until 2016, although according to a recent report, Samsung plans to launch the handset before the end of 2015.
According to DigiTimes, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will launch a few months early, Samsung is apparently doing this to combat Apple’s new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus handsets which are expected in August or September.
Samsung is aiming to release the device 2-3 months ahead of schedule so that it would have a release date in late 2015, making it the first time the company would release two different Galaxy S series smartphones in one year.
That would mean that the new Galaxy S7 could launch around November or December, we had previously expected the device to launch in March or April of next year.
We have heard a number of rumors about the hardware in the Galaxy S7, the handset is rumored to come with a higher resolution display than the Galaxy S6, possibly a 4K Ultra HD display.
Samsung are also rumored to introduce Iris recognition in their next generation Galaxy S handset, this would be used for the same features that fingerprint recognition is.
We are not sure how accurate this rumor of the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S7 is, the company launching the replacement for the Galaxy S6 this year would be a strange move, but you never know.
