There have been a number of rumors over the past few weeks that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 update would be skipped and instead the handset will get the Android 4.3 update.
Now it looks like this has been confirmed by Deutsche Telekom, who confirmed on their forum in Germany that the Galaxy S3 will skip Android 4.2.2 and go direct to Android 4.3.
As yet we do not have any information on when the Android 4.3 update will be released for the Samsung Galaxy S3, as soon as we get some more details we will let you guys know.
Why Skip Android 4.2.2?
The decision to skip Android 4.2.2 and move directly to Android 4.3 could be driven by several factors. One primary reason could be the enhancements and new features that Android 4.3 offers over its predecessor. Android 4.3, also known as Jelly Bean, includes several performance improvements, better graphics support, and additional security features. For instance, it introduces OpenGL ES 3.0 support, which provides better graphics rendering and gaming experiences. Additionally, it includes Bluetooth Smart technology, which is essential for connecting to newer wearable devices and health gadgets.
Another reason could be the resources and time required to develop and test the Android 4.2.2 update. By focusing directly on Android 4.3, Samsung can streamline its development process and ensure that users receive the latest features and improvements without unnecessary delays.
What to Expect from Android 4.3 on the Galaxy S3
The Android 4.3 update is expected to bring a host of new features and improvements to the Samsung Galaxy S3. Users can look forward to enhanced performance, thanks to Project Butter, which aims to make the user interface smoother and more responsive. This is particularly beneficial for a device like the Galaxy S3, which, despite being a few years old, still has a significant user base.
Moreover, Android 4.3 introduces restricted profiles, which allow users to create multiple user accounts with varying levels of access. This feature is particularly useful for families who share a single device, as it enables parents to control the content and apps accessible to their children.
Another notable feature is the improved notification system. Android 4.3 allows for more interactive notifications, enabling users to take actions directly from the notification shade without opening the respective apps. This can significantly enhance productivity and user experience.
Additionally, the update is expected to bring better battery management, thanks to the introduction of new power-saving features. This is a crucial improvement for Galaxy S3 users, as battery life is often a concern for older devices.
As yet we do not have any information on when the Android 4.3 update will be released for the Samsung Galaxy S3, as soon as we get some more details we will let you guys know.
