We recently heard that the new Samsung Galaxy Note II is headed to US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless. While this has yet to be confirmed by Verizon, new information has emerged that strongly suggests Verizon will indeed carry the new Galaxy Note II.
The team over at Brief Mobile has obtained a screenshot of a device from Samsung with the model number SCH-I605, which is expected to be the multi-carrier release of the new Samsung Galaxy Note II. This model number aligns with previous Samsung devices released on Verizon, adding credibility to the claim.
Specifications and Features
The Verizon Galaxy Note II is expected to come with a quad-core Exynos processor, which is known for its high performance and efficiency. This processor will be paired with 4G LTE capabilities, ensuring fast internet speeds and seamless multitasking. The handset will apparently feature an identical design to the international version that we have already seen, which includes a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This large screen is perfect for media consumption, gaming, and productivity tasks.
In addition to the powerful processor and impressive display, the Galaxy Note II is expected to come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card slot. The device will also feature an 8-megapixel rear camera capable of recording 1080p video, and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and selfies.
Software and Additional Features
The Galaxy Note II will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI overlay. This combination provides a smooth and user-friendly experience, with access to a wide range of apps and services through the Google Play Store. One of the standout features of the Galaxy Note II is the S Pen, a stylus that offers precise control and a range of functionalities, including note-taking, drawing, and navigation.
Another notable feature is the Multi-Window mode, which allows users to run two apps simultaneously on the screen. This is particularly useful for multitasking, as it enables users to, for example, browse the web while watching a video or take notes while reading an article.
The device is also expected to come with a large 3,100mAh battery, which should provide ample battery life for a full day of use. Other features include NFC (Near Field Communication) for contactless payments and data transfer, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
We do not yet have any information on when the new Samsung Galaxy Note II will be available on Verizon Wireless. However, given the leaked information and the history of Samsung’s device releases, it is likely that an official announcement will be made soon. As soon as we get more information, we will let you guys know.
