Early this week we told you about the Samsung Apollo, which is Samsung’s latest Android smartphone that will be released here in the UK. We have finally managed to get full specifications on this new Android handset.
The Samsung Apollo will feature Android 2.1, and comes with a 3.2 inch WVGA display with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, connectivity comes in the form of 2.5G : 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz and 3G (HSDPA 3.6 Mbps) : 900/2100 MHz.
There is also a 3 megapixel camera with auto focus, built in face detection, Smile shot and Panorama shot. The Galaxy Apollo features Samsung’s Social Hub, with an integrated phonebook that links to your contacts from across various social networks, and users will be able to connect with their friends and upload photos to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
Other specifications include a built in video recorder that can record video at a 320 x 240 resolution at 15 frames per second, plus support for DivX/Xvid, WMV, Real, H.263, H.264, MPEG4 video files and support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, WMA, MIDI, SP-MIDI audio files.
The Samsung Galaxy Apollo also comes with a built in FM radio, and it will use Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 UI, it will be available exclusively through Orange in the UK.
