A small team of developers based in Orlando Florida has created a new running aid for those that take to the streets during the hours of darkness. The running shoe lights are capable of projecting 300 lumens of light and are powered by a battery that is capable of offering up to 10 hours of use on a single charge, enabling you to run all night if desired.
The Night Runner Pro running lights have this week launched via Kickstarter to raise the $25,000 the team requires to take their design into production. Pledges start from $55, and if all goes well worldwide shipping will take place during December 2017.

Over the past two years, we’ve listened to our customers suggestions on how to improve our first model and the result was the more rugged, energy efficient, and connected Night Runner PRO.
With no headbands, belts or straps, Night Runner PRO Shoe Lights enhance your adventure without getting in the way. The two ultra-light, rechargeable, 300 lumen LED light units provide advance warning of trip hazards and make the runner instantly visible to traffic. The patent pending, bi-lateral design features 270° of visibility with two rear-facing red lights making the user visible from all sides. The shoelace position of Night Runner places the light down low where you need to clearly define potential hazards.
The Night Runner PRO will be the first in the industry to provide visual performance feedback through “Flash Alerts” by way of Bluetooth / smart phone integration. Our sleek app design is user friendly so adventurers can set it and forget it (not just a phrase for toaster infomercials).
The iOS and Android app will also provide remote switching, brightness control and battery life indicator. The removable lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack will allow for more than 3 hours at 300 lumens or 10 hours at 100 lumens. You can also purchase additional packs to swap out for those all night hikes, ultra-marathons or any night adventure.
