Maker and hacker Greg Matthewshas used a Raspberry Pi display and Pi mini PC to create an awesome touchscreen in-car digital dashboard, which displays a number of useful measurements while driving including speed, RPM, and engine temperature.
Watch the video below to learn more about the project which uses Node.js and the car’s battery to power the system and has been built for under $170.
In this video I show how to make a digital dash board for a pre-OBDII nissan car with a consult port. I show how to install the software and install the dash in my Nissan 240sx s14, this will work for a s13 as well if it has a consult port. The dash runs on a raspberry pi 3 and shows live speed, RPM, and coolant temp right now. Later I want to add check engine codes and the ability to clear them. If you want to suggest features feel free to comment below! Also let me know if you do this project yourself!
