The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible is now official and according to Land Rover this is the world’s first luxury compact convertible SUV.
The new Evoque convertible was unveiled outside the University of the Arts London’s famous Central Saint Martins building in Granary Square, Kings Cross, London.
Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, said: “The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is a symbol of refinement, luxury and creative design. It’s perfectly suited to the urban surroundings of London. The Evoque’s elegant design proportions lend themselves to the creation of a Convertible, and it’s fitting to reveal the vehicle against the backdrop of one of the world’s leading centres for art and design education here in the creative hub of London.”
The exterior styling of the convertible Evoque remains the same, it comes with an electric canvas roof that can be dropped in just 18 seconds and can be raised in 21 seconds, this can be done at speed of up to 30 miles per hour.
