As expected Sony has started rolling out its new PlayStation 4 System Software update 3.5 making available the new PlayStation 4 Remote Play feature which is now available to be used with both Windows PC and Mac systems as well as PlayStation Vita, PlayStation TV or your Sony Xperia device.
The new PlayStation 4 Remote Play now allows you to stream content directly from your console to your PS Vita, PS TV, Xperia device as well as your desktop PC or Mac system.
Sony explains more :
Use the (PS4 Remote Play) application to control your PlayStation 4 system from your computer. With this application installed on your PC or Mac, you’ll enjoy immersive PlayStation gaming while being connected remotely to your PS4 system. Now the PS4 action never has to stop because someone else needs to use your TV. Jump straight into the action and continue playing epic single-player missions and intense online multiplayer modes.
Requirements for being able to use the PS4 remote play include :
Windows PC PlayStation 4 Remote Play support requires :
– A computer with either of the following operating systems.
– Windows 8.1 (32-bit or 64-bit) or Windows 10 (32-bit or 64-bit)
– Intel Core i5-560M Processor 2.67 GHz or faster
– 100 MB or more of available storage
– 2 GB or more of RAM
– 1024 x 768 or higher display resolution
– Sound card
– USB port
Mac PlayStation 4 Remote Play support requires :
– A computer with either of the following operating systems.
– OS X Yosemite or OS X El Capitan
– Intel Core i5-520M Processor 2.40 GHz or faster
– 40 MB or more of available storage
– 2 GB or more of RAM
– USB port
