During the recent conference held by Engadget, Ouya Console CEO Julie Uhrman was available to answer questions about her new Ouya Console and how it will stand up against the three big game consoles as well as tablet gaming.
Ouya has started sending out invites for the new official Ouya console unveiling on March 28th, which will reveal the final look of the Ouya console hardware and controller for the world to see.
When asked about tablet gaming the Ouya Console CEO explained: “You’re not having an emotional experience on a tablet,” Uhrman explained, asked about what makes the Android-based Ouya console stand out from the larger trend toward mobile gaming. “You’re not engaged. It’s more of a distraction.”
Continuing by saying theta the controller is an integral part of gaming and makes the Ouya console perfect for added involvement and interaction with Ouya games. There will be around 450+ games available to play on the Android open source Ouya console when it launches on March 28th.
“We want to really enable creativity,”-“and bring games back to the television, but we wanted to do it in an inexpensive and accessible way. We wanted to bring the best business model — mobile — to the television. That means you have to build something that’s incredibly powerful and yet inexpensive.”
