Yesterday we saw a teaser photo of the new Oppo R7 smartphone that confirmed the handset would come with a unibody design and a metal chassis.
Now Oppo has released a photo of the back of the handset, which you can see below and the company also announced that the unibody of the new Oppo R7 will be made from magnesium alloy.
We previously heard that the new Oppo R7 would come with a 4.7 inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and that the device would be powered by an octa-core processor. As yet, there are no details on the exact processor, but it is expected to be one of the latest from Qualcomm or MediaTek, ensuring top-notch performance for users.
Enhanced Specifications and Features
Other rumored specifications on the new R7 include 3GB of RAM, which should provide smooth multitasking capabilities, and a choice of storage options, likely ranging from 32GB to 128GB. Additionally, the device will feature a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand storage further, which is a highly appreciated feature for those who need extra space for apps, photos, and videos.
The handset will also come with some high-end cameras. Although there is no official information on the exact camera specifications, it is speculated that the Oppo R7 will feature a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. These cameras are expected to include advanced features such as optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, and various shooting modes to enhance the photography experience.
Design and Build Quality
The use of magnesium alloy for the unibody design not only makes the Oppo R7 more durable but also gives it a premium feel. Magnesium alloy is known for its lightweight and robust properties, which means the device will be both sturdy and comfortable to hold. The sleek design, combined with the metal chassis, is likely to appeal to users who prioritize aesthetics and build quality in their smartphones.
Oppo is known for its innovative designs and high-quality materials, and the R7 seems to be no exception. The unibody design ensures that there are no gaps or seams, giving the phone a seamless and elegant look. This design choice also contributes to the overall rigidity and durability of the device, making it less prone to damage from drops and impacts.
Oppo is holding a press event on the 20th of May, where they will announce their new R7 smartphone. This event is highly anticipated, as it will provide more detailed information about the handset’s features, pricing, and availability. As soon as we get some more details about the handset, we will let you guys know.
In addition to the R7, there are rumors that Oppo might also unveil a larger variant, possibly named the R7 Plus, which could feature a bigger display and a larger battery. This would cater to users who prefer phablets for media consumption and productivity tasks.
