Onkyo has this week unveiled a new addition to thier range of hardware designed for audiophiles with the announcement of the immanent launch of the Onkyo DAC-HA300.
The Onkyo DAC-HA300 will be launching next month and will be priced at £499 and provides 128 GB of storage via a microSD card together with an OLED screen and navigation controls, as well as a lithium-ion battery offering up to 7 hours of play back on a single charge.
The Onkyo DAC-HA300 is an all-in-one music player, amplifier and DAC that is equipped with a Micro USB Type-B input enabling asynchronous D/A conversion of high resolution audio from a computer system without the need to install any drivers.
Other features of the Onkyo DAC-HA300 include a switching optical, coaxial and analogue input capable of accepting digital signals from connected devices up to a maximum 192/24 resolution together with a companion application in the form of Onkyo’s HF Player.
The Onkyo HF Player is compatible with both iOS and Android devices and can be connected to mobile devices via a USB connection or Lightning cable connection for iOS devices.
There is also an upgrade available in the form of a HD Player Pack that enables output of high resolution PCM and 5.6 MHz DSD files at native resolution to the DAC-HA300 for decoding and playback. Onkyo claims that this is an industry first.
