OnePlus were supposed to be holding a press event for the OnePlus 6T on the 30th of October. Last week Apple announced a press event for the 30th of October and now OnePlus has changed the date of theirs.
The OnePlus 6T press event will take place on the 29th of October instead of the 30th of October. The event will take place at 11AM ET time.
Reason for the Change
This is short notice for the company to change their event, there are more than 1,000 tickets sold for the event and OnePlus is apparently reaching out to the attendees and offering to cover any additional travel expenses people have incurred if they have to change flights etc. The decision to move the event was likely influenced by the significant media attention that Apple’s events typically garner. By rescheduling, OnePlus aims to ensure that their new device gets the spotlight it deserves without being overshadowed by Apple’s announcements.
Impact on Attendees
The company is also offering to refund the tickets to people who can no longer attend the event due to the date being changed. This gesture shows OnePlus’s commitment to their community and their understanding of the inconvenience this change may cause. For those who have already made travel arrangements, OnePlus’s offer to cover additional travel expenses is a considerate move, reflecting their customer-centric approach.
OnePlus has a history of engaging closely with their user base, often taking feedback and suggestions seriously. This change in event date, while sudden, is being handled with a level of transparency and customer care that is commendable. The company has communicated the change promptly and is making efforts to mitigate any inconvenience caused to their loyal fans and media personnel.
The OnePlus 6T is highly anticipated, with rumors suggesting several new features and improvements over its predecessor, the OnePlus 6. Expected enhancements include an in-display fingerprint sensor, a smaller notch, and possibly even improvements in camera technology and battery life. The excitement around the device is palpable, and the rescheduled event is expected to draw significant attention.
In the competitive smartphone market, timing can be crucial. By moving their event, OnePlus ensures that they have a dedicated window to showcase their innovations without competing for media coverage. This strategic move could potentially lead to better visibility and a more impactful launch.
