After finally going up for pre-order earlier this month priced at $599 the first customers to pre-order the highly anticipated Oculus Rift virtual reality headset are expected to receive delivery of their headsets on March 28th 2016.
However as more consumers pre-ordered the VR headset the Oculus has started pushing back shipping dates and after the first day of pre-ordering had finished the date for shipment was set for June 2016.
This week Oculus has now pushed this even further back with new pre-orders, listing July 2016 as the date any consumers will receive the VR headset if they pre-order from today onwards. Oculus also announced earlier this month that any Kickstarter backers from the original campaign that pledged money for the first development kit will also be receiving a full consumer version of the Oculus Rift in due course.
The Oculus Rift VR headset has only been available to pre-order for just over one and a half weeks and it will be interesting to see just how far the shipping dates are pushed back in the coming months, as more and more consumers pre-order the revolutionary new VR headset bundle that includes an Xbox controller and motion camera.
