3D printing filament manufacture Fillamentum and creator of the awesome Timberfill wood filament, has launched two new additions to its range in the form of the Wood and Crystal Clear filaments.
The new wood filaments take the form of Champagne and Rosewood printing materials together with a new crystal clear PLA material pictured above.
Fillamentum already sells Cinnamon and Wood-tone already present in the Timberfill line-up and the new addition adds further to its range of custom filaments. Timberfill filament is constructed of biodegradable material based on wood.
Providing objects with similar mechanical features as ABS or PLA but with a genuine appearance of wood. 3D Printing Industry author Davide Sher explains :
“All filaments now come in a rebranded package, inside a humidity safe envelope, which in the past was used only for the Timberfills. These are now available in a wide range of colors – both in 1,75 and 2.85 mm coils, priced at €44 for a 750 gram spool (1 kg if counting the plastic spool’s weight) which, when printed, resembles real wood almost completely, both for the scent and the feel. I am taking with me a spool of the dark rosewood and I cannot wait to try it.”
