The new Porsche 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4 were made official earlier, and we previously saw a video of the 718 Cayman GT4. Now, we have an exciting new video showcasing the stunning 718 Spyder.
The new 718 Spyder comes equipped with a four-litre six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. This powerful combination delivers an impressive 420 PS (414 horsepower), ensuring an exhilarating driving experience for enthusiasts.
Performance and Handling
For the first time ever, the 718 Spyder benefits from the high-performance GT chassis of the 718 Cayman GT4. This advanced chassis significantly enhances the car’s cornering dynamics, providing an emotional and engaging driving experience. The further refined lightweight spring-strut front and rear axles incorporate racing technologies, ensuring superior handling and stability.
The direct connection to the chassis is partially achieved through ball joints, which contribute to the car’s precise and responsive handling. Additionally, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping system with a 30 mm lower suspension lowers the center of gravity, improving the car’s lateral dynamics potential. This system is specifically designed for use on the racetrack, making the handling characteristics of the 718 Cayman GT4 even sharper and more responsive.
Design and Features
The 718 Spyder’s design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The car features a sleek and aerodynamic body, which not only enhances its visual appeal but also contributes to its performance. The lightweight construction of the 718 Spyder ensures that it remains agile and responsive, making it a joy to drive on both the road and the track.
Inside the cabin, the 718 Spyder offers a driver-focused environment with high-quality materials and advanced technology. The seats are designed to provide excellent support during spirited driving, while the intuitive layout of the controls ensures that everything is within easy reach. The car also comes equipped with a range of modern features, including a high-resolution infotainment system, advanced connectivity options, and a premium sound system.
The 718 Spyder’s convertible top is another highlight, allowing drivers to enjoy the open-air experience at the touch of a button. This feature adds an extra layer of excitement to the driving experience, making every journey in the 718 Spyder a memorable one.
