The mid-size truck market is booming right now with the Jeep Gladiator coming soon and the new Ford Ranger. Nissan is by many accounts the least popular player in the mid-size market with its Frontier. The truck is certainly attractive but has less capability than similar offerings because it is the oldest of the mid-size trucks.
That will soon change with Nissan SVP for global design Alfonso Albaisa saying that the new Frontier is “almost finished.” Nissan’s VP of product planning, Ivan Espinosa, said that the new Frontier was something Nissan is actively working on and would come “soon” to market.
No specifics are known about the new Frontier at this time. It’s hard to say if the new Frontier will be an all-new design or a more significant refresh of the current truck. We hope for something all-new and priced well.
