Netgear has unveiled a new addition to their range of HD security cameras with the launch of the Netgear Arlo Q that offers both 1080p high-definition video and two-way communication.
The Netgear Arlo Q has been designed for the smart home and to provide competition to the likes of Nest Cam that was previously known as Dropcam and Logitech’s Circle and Samsung’s SmartCam.
The latest addition to the range award-winning Netgear Arlo IP cameras is equipped with a 4-megapixel-image sensor and built-in night vision is capable of providing imagery even in total darkness. The camera is also capable of providing notifications using a comparison application that has been created for both iOS and Android devices. Pat Collins, vice president of smart home products at Netgear explains more :
With Arlo Q, our goal is to deliver an incredible end-to-end experience that leaves you feeling as though you are right there in your home, even though you may be a world away. In addition to Arlo Q’s amazing HD video and audio quality, we are excited to be adding a new set of powerful software features to the Arlo platform, including motion zones, continuous video recording, and digital zoom, that will even further enhance the Arlo experience.
And by combining Arlo Q with our 100% wire-free cameras, we now provide you with the only solution on the market that easily covers every angle of your home or business – indoors and outdoors, day and night, all from the same app.
The Netgear Arlo Q 1080p HD Security Camera with Audio (VMC3040) is equipped with a 130 degree lens and will be available next month throughout the US as well as launching in Australia, Canada, and Europe the near future. The recommended retail price of the new security camera is $220 or £170 or €220
