We have already seen some leaked photos of the new Moto G and now it is the turn of the new Motorola Moto X.
The pictures above appear to be of a prototype version of the Moto X that were posted on Facebook and Google+.
Design and Display
The new Moto X is said to come with a 5.5 inch display, as yet there are no details on the exact resolution of the display, we suspect it will either be Full HD or Quad HD. The design of the prototype suggests a sleek and modern look, with thin bezels and a premium build quality. This aligns with Motorola’s recent trend of focusing on high-quality materials and craftsmanship in their devices.
The 5.5 inch display size places the Moto X in the phablet category, making it a great option for users who enjoy larger screens for media consumption, gaming, and productivity. If the display does turn out to be Quad HD, it would offer an impressive pixel density, providing sharp and vibrant visuals.
Specifications and Features
While the exact specifications of the new Moto X are still under wraps, we can make some educated guesses based on industry trends and Motorola’s previous releases. The device is likely to be powered by a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, possibly the Snapdragon 810 or the newer Snapdragon 820, paired with at least 3GB of RAM. This would ensure smooth performance and the ability to handle demanding applications and multitasking with ease.
In terms of storage, we can expect the Moto X to offer multiple options, starting from 32GB and potentially going up to 128GB, with the possibility of expandable storage via a microSD card slot. This would cater to users who require ample space for their apps, photos, videos, and other data.
The camera setup on the new Moto X is also anticipated to be a significant upgrade. Motorola has been focusing on improving their camera technology, and the new Moto X could feature a high-resolution rear camera with advanced features such as optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus, and 4K video recording. The front-facing camera is expected to be optimized for selfies and video calls, with a wide-angle lens and possibly a front-facing flash.
Motorola are holding a press event on the 28th of July, we will have more details about the new Moto X and also the new Moto G when they are made official at this event.
Software and User Experience
The new Moto X is expected to run on the latest version of Android, likely Android 5.1 Lollipop or Android 6.0 Marshmallow, depending on the release timeline. Motorola is known for providing a near-stock Android experience, which means users can expect a clean and bloatware-free interface with timely updates.
Motorola’s software enhancements, such as Moto Display and Moto Actions, are likely to make a return on the new Moto X. Moto Display provides quick access to notifications and information without fully waking up the device, while Moto Actions allow users to perform various tasks using gestures, such as silencing calls by flipping the phone face down or launching the camera with a quick twist of the wrist.
The upcoming Moto X is shaping up to be an exciting addition to Motorola’s lineup, with a focus on premium design, powerful specifications, and a user-friendly software experience. The 5.5 inch display, potential high-end processor, and advanced camera features make it a compelling option for smartphone enthusiasts.
We look forward to the official announcement on the 28th of July, where Motorola will reveal all the details about the new Moto X and Moto G. Stay tuned for more updates and in-depth coverage of these highly anticipated devices.
