Halo 3 fans might be surprised to hear that this week a new Halo 3 Easter Egg has been found with a hidden message on the Halo 3 loading screen.
The discovery has been made by Lord Zedd, Nowise10 and LeGiiTXSLaYeR and will only happen on December 25th. Check out the video after the jump to learn more.
After Bungie passed over development of the Halo game to 343 Industries there existence of the Easter Egg and has been teased on Halo forums and in Q&A interviews.
Q: Are there any Easter eggs from your past games that surprised you at how quickly they were found or any that surprised you at how long they took to find?
A: Definitely the IWHBYD skull in H3. But you cheated. There is one Easter egg in Halo 3 that I don’t think anyone has found – I stumbled across it in code a while back. It only happens on a specific day…so good luck.
The community speculated for weeks on what this new easter egg could be, and another question was asked in a future Mail Sack.
Q: What is your proudest moment in your time at Bungie?
A: Showing my wife the Easter egg I put in the halo 3 loading screen for her – the one that nobody has found yet.
As you can see in the video below the secret message says : Happy Birthday to Lauren but only on December 25th and was added by Adrian Perez and requires players to hold down both thumbsticks during the Halo 3 loading screen.
