Apple announced their new 13 inch MacBook Pro earlier this month, the device comes with a Touch Bar and Apple also discontinued their 12 inch MacBook when this new model was announced.
Prices for the new MacBook Pro start at $1,299 and now we get to have a look at its design and some of its features in a new video from MacRumors.
Design and Features
The only major design change on this model compared to the previous model is the addition of the Touch Bar. This new version gets the latest Intel Core processor and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as standard. The Touch Bar replaces the traditional function keys with a versatile, touch-sensitive strip that adapts to different applications, providing shortcuts and tools that are contextually relevant. This can significantly enhance productivity, especially for creative professionals who use software like Adobe Photoshop or Final Cut Pro.
In addition to the Touch Bar, the new MacBook Pro also features a Retina display with True Tone technology, which adjusts the color temperature of the screen based on the ambient lighting conditions. This ensures that images and videos look natural in any environment. The device also includes the Apple T2 Security Chip, which provides enhanced security for encrypted storage and secure boot capabilities.
Performance and Specifications
Under the hood, the new 13 inch MacBook Pro is powered by the latest 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processors, offering up to quad-core performance. This makes it significantly faster than its predecessors, capable of handling demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, and software development with ease. The base model comes with 8GB of RAM, but it can be configured with up to 16GB for those who need more memory for intensive applications.
Storage options start at 128GB of SSD storage, but can be upgraded to 256GB, 512GB, or even 1TB, providing ample space for large files and applications. The SSDs in the MacBook Pro are known for their fast read and write speeds, which contribute to the overall snappy performance of the device.
The new MacBook Pro also includes four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, which offer versatile connectivity options. These ports can be used for charging, data transfer, and connecting external displays, with support for up to two 4K displays or one 5K display. This makes the MacBook Pro a powerful workstation for professionals who need to connect multiple peripherals.
