McLaren Special Operations known as MSO is the arm of sports car maker McLaren that builds bespoke rides for the wealthy who can afford customization right from the factory. The latest MSO ride is this white on black McLaren 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 car. The 79 in the name comes for the -79 atomic weight of gold.
There are real 24k gold flakes in the paint to give it a shimmer. Inside the car, the vent surrounds and switches are gold in color. The car also gets black and almond white leather on the inside with contrasting stitching. On the outside of the car, the white with gold flake paint covers most of the car with gloss black top and wheels.
The side intakes, front splitter, rear diffuser, and MSO badges on the car are made from carbon fiber. The car debuted at the Dubai International Motor Show and is only being offered for sale in the Middle East. Other than the fancy finishings the car is a standard McLaren 650S Spider with a 641hp heart and 204mph top speed. McLaren says that more than 25% of all cars ordered from the Middle East are MSO bespoke projects.
