Team Owl Works has launched a new 3D printer via Kickstarter called the Morpheus which has been designed to provide users with a new 3D printing experience and has been specifically designed for SOHO.
Priced at $3,799 the Morpheus 3D printer offers a build volume 33 x 18 x 30cm allowing you to print multiple objects at the same time.
Watch the video below to learn more about this innovative new approach to 3D printing small production runs and mockups. Its developers explain a little more :
We, Team OWL WORKS, have been running a SOHO business in 3D printing service area in Seoul, Korea. We’re doing; 3D printing, consulting on 3D printing adoption for current business, education on 3D printing, supporting Makers and so on. We have equipped with over 10 FDM & 3 SLA/DLP 3D printers as well as some necessary equipments, and we’re registered on 3DHubs. Simply, we know affordable 3D printers well. I am often faced with some requests like this;
• Can you make 20~30 pieces of 5”-tall Eiffel Towers for my daughter’s birthday party gift for guests ?
• I urgently need to get 30 different mockup designs of earring, could you print it by tomorrow ?
• I’m planning to exhibit my product at the international trade show, and I want to make a number of miniatures (3 cubic inch, 300ea) to provide buyers with it. Can you print it ?
As you guess, the above requests are about ‘small production’ and we are not able to handle such orders smoothly with current 3D printers. So..we need something new over FDM, SLA and DLP 3D printer to satisfy our customers as well as other SOHO players like us. This project was started at for this simple but essential reason a year and half ago. Now we’re ready to share it with you.
