Mitsubishi has been selling the Outlander Sport SUV for a number of years now and the SUV has always used a 2.0L 148hp engine under the hood. For 2015, Mitsubishi has added a pair of new Outlander Sport models that get a new larger 2.4L engine that produces an extra 20hp compared to the base 2.0L. The new 2.4L engine produces 168hp.
The larger motor will be offered in the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 ES and 2.4 GT cars. The 2.4 ES will start at $21,295 and has a black center bumper to set it apart from the standard ES model. The 2.4 GT will start at $23.595 and includes some other features that buyers will appreciate. The GT gets a power driver seat, leather-wrapped parking brake handle, aluminum pedals, and exterior enhancements.
Those exterior enhancements include side view mirrors with LED turn signals, black center grill, and black roof rails. GT buyers can also opt for the GT Premium Package that brings a 710W Rockford Fosgate sound system with subwoofer, panoramic glass sunroof with LED mood lighting, and an auto dimming rear view mirror. A GT Touring package adds leather seats and navigation.
