Back in November, Microsoft announced that they had sold 40 million copies of their latest OS, Windows 8, the 40 million copies were sold in just one month since Windows 8 was launched.
Microsoft has now announced another milestone for their Windows 8 OS, they have sold a total of 60 million Windows 8 licenses since it was launched back in October.
The 60 million licenses sold includes existing Windows users upgrading to Windows 8, and also sales of the OS to OEM manufacturers for use on tablets, PCs and notebooks.
Microsoft also shared some details on the Windows Store and have said that they number of apps available has quadrupled and that they have now reached over 100 million app downloads.
It will be interesting to see if the adoption of Windows 8 continues at a similar pace, if it does then Microsoft should have reached the 100 million Windows 8 licenses sold within a month or so.
