Microsoft has been working with a number of smartphone makers to bring the apps to devices and now the company has announced a new partnership with Acer.
The partnership with Acer will see Microsoft’s range of apps pre-installed on the company’s smartphones and tablets.
“We’re excited to partner with Microsoft to provide enhanced mobile productivity to our products,” said ST Liew, president of Acer Smart Products Business Group. “By integrating the Microsoft software suite, Acer customers will enjoy productivity on-the-go along with the familiar computing experience on their smartphones and tablets.”
Nick Psyhogeos, president of Microsoft Technology Licensing, said, “We’re pleased that we have been able to enhance the already strong partnership that exists between Microsoft and Acer. Mutually beneficial and collaborative agreements such as this one promote innovation and lead to better products and experiences for consumers.”
Microsoft Apps Pre-installed on Acer Devices
The Microsoft Apps that will come pre-installed on the devices will include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Skype, and OneDrive. This suite of applications is designed to enhance productivity and provide users with a seamless experience across different devices.
For instance, Microsoft Word and Excel are essential tools for document creation and data analysis, making them invaluable for both students and professionals. PowerPoint is widely used for creating presentations, while Outlook serves as a robust email and calendar management tool. OneNote offers a versatile platform for note-taking, and Skype facilitates communication through video calls and messaging. OneDrive ensures that users have cloud storage to save and access their files from anywhere.
Impact on the Market
This partnership is expected to have a significant impact on the market. By pre-installing Microsoft apps on Acer devices, both companies aim to provide a more integrated and user-friendly experience. This move is likely to attract a broader audience, including business professionals, students, and everyday users who rely on these applications for their daily tasks.
Moreover, this collaboration could set a precedent for other smartphone and tablet manufacturers. As the demand for mobile productivity tools continues to grow, more companies may seek similar partnerships to enhance their product offerings. This trend could lead to a more competitive market, ultimately benefiting consumers with better products and services.
We can expect to see some new smartphones and tablets from Acer at Mobile World Congress later this month. These new devices will likely showcase the integrated Microsoft apps, demonstrating the enhanced functionality and user experience that this partnership aims to deliver.
In addition to the pre-installed apps, Acer and Microsoft may explore further opportunities for collaboration. This could include joint marketing campaigns, co-branded devices, or even the development of new features and applications tailored to the needs of their users. Such initiatives would not only strengthen their partnership but also drive innovation in the industry.
