Mercedes has gone official with images and details of the new S-Class Cabriolet. The new convertible is the seventh car that slots into the S-Class and it is based on the two-door model. The top is fabric and it has all sorts of cool features inside. Mercedes even gives the car heated armrests.
Merc also fits the high-end convertible with Burmester speakers in the tonneau cover and a slick Airscarf neck warmer system so you can drop the top on cool days and still be comfortable. I wonder if that system will cool you for use on hot days.
It’s worth noting that this is the first time in a long time for an S-Class cabriolet to be offered. Specifically, the last drop-top S-Class was made 44 years ago. The official PR for the car is more focused on talking about the old S-Class verts than the new car. It’s unclear what the new cabrio will sell for, but it won’t be cheap. The car is certainly packed with tech features, including heated seats and automatic climate control. Most of that stuff is aimed at ensuring you can motor top down much of the year.
