The new Litl Box has been designed by Yves Behar’s Fuseproject, the creators of the Litl webbook, and is designed to help convert your TV into a fully functional web browser.
The Litl box uses Litl’s own OS system and consists of a powerful OS box that connects to the Web and feeds Internet content to the TV via HDMI and a touch screen remote control. Pictured below.
Innovative Remote Control
The remote control has two modes: a touchscreen that can be used to navigate web channels and apps, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard similar to a smartphone’s to allow emailing and interaction with text. This dual functionality makes it incredibly versatile, catering to both casual browsing and more intensive tasks like writing emails or engaging in social media.
Open Platform for Developers
The Litl OS is going to be open to developers to design and create applications, hopefully providing a more direct path to content. This open platform approach is expected to foster innovation and expand the range of available applications, making the Litl Box a more versatile and powerful tool for users. Developers will have the opportunity to create apps that can enhance the user experience, from streaming services to interactive games and educational tools.
The Litl Box aims to bridge the gap between traditional television and the vast resources of the internet. By turning your TV into a web browser, it offers a more interactive and engaging way to consume content. Imagine watching a cooking show and being able to instantly look up recipes, or watching a news segment and being able to read more in-depth articles on the topic.
Moreover, the Litl Box is designed with user-friendliness in mind. The interface is intuitive, making it accessible even for those who are not tech-savvy. The touch screen remote control simplifies navigation, allowing users to easily switch between different web channels and applications.
Another significant advantage of the Litl Box is its potential for educational use. With the increasing importance of digital literacy, having a device that can seamlessly integrate educational content into the home environment is invaluable. Parents can use the Litl Box to access educational videos, interactive learning apps, and other resources that can aid in their children’s education.
In terms of entertainment, the Litl Box opens up a world of possibilities. From streaming movies and TV shows to playing online games, the device can cater to a wide range of interests. The open platform also means that new and innovative applications will continually be developed, keeping the content fresh and exciting.
The Litl Box by Yves Behar’s Fuseproject is a groundbreaking device that transforms your TV into a fully functional web browser. With its powerful OS, innovative remote control, and open platform for developers, it offers a versatile and user-friendly way to access and interact with internet content. Whether for entertainment, education, or everyday browsing, the Litl Box has the potential to revolutionize the way we use our televisions.
