Iconic Sound based in London has this week launched their Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of the very first analogue optical audio cable called LightLead.
The LightLead is constructed using fibre optics and doesn’t use any wire to send the signals but Analogue Light. Offering zero loading, zero capacitance and zero micro-phonics.
As well as being 100 percent isolated from the possibility of creating an electrical shock and no more crackling cables. Watch the video below to learn more about the revolutionary new technology.
If it’s optical, isn’t it digital? : No! it is not digital in anyway. LightLead is the result of 10 years developing and perfecting what we believe is the most perfect transfer of sound use will be able to buy.
We use a patented optical analogue technology. If you’ve ever had an electrical shock from a microphone whilst playing your instrument, this will come as great relief to you! If you have never been shocked then the LightLead will ensure you never will be. No encoding, digitisation or modulation. The signal travels down the fiber as light! There are no wires in our optical cables. We can guarantee you full electrical isolation from what ever your plugged into.
The LightLead is currently hoping to raise £65,000 via the Kickstarter crowdfunding website to help the concept go into production and provide a limited edition 3m or 10ft LightLead cable for a £99 pledge.
