The new LG Nexus 5X was made official at Google’s press event yesterday, the handset comes with a 5.2 inch IPS Full HD display with a resolution of 120 x 1080 pixels and 423 ppi.
Processing on the handset comes in the form of a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and there is also 2GB of RAM.
“We are excited to be able to work with Google again on developing Nexus 5X, our best Nexus yet,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications. “This time, we wanted to deliver the best hardware for Google’s most advanced software and we’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”
For storage there are two options on the new LG Nexus 5X, 16GB or 32GB, there is no microSD card slot on the handset.
Connectivity comes in the form of 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and USB Type-C and the handset also comes with front and rear facing cameras.
On the front of the device there is a 5 megapixel camera with a F2.0 aperture and on the back of the handset there is a 12.3 megapixel camera with an F2.0 aperture, the device also come with a 2700 mAh non removable battery.
The Nexus 5X will be available in three colors, Carbon, Quartz and Ice and the device is available to pre-order in the Google Store in the US, UK, Korea, Ireland and Japan, it will ship next month and will also be made available to pre-order in 40 more countries on the 19th of October.
The handset comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it also features a fingerprint sensor, prices for the device will start at $379.
